POLITICAL POSTURING OR SHOULD THE HYDRO ONE CEO GO?

Yesterday's Waterloo Region Record carrys this story "Hydro One CEO must go, Tories, NDP say". After reading the story it certainly seems that Hydro One don't have a clue in their Accounts Receivable department. The sheer number of complaints to M.P.P.'s constituenecy offices as well as to the Ombudsman are staggering. They are in the thousands. Furthermore the Ombudsman stated that his investigators "got the runaround" and experienced "stonewalling" from Hydro One. This particularily does not speak well to their corporate culture. I guess my first question is whether changing one individual will fix what obviously is a billing mess at Hydro One. On the other hand it just might wake up a few sleepy heads in the organization who aren't paying sufficient attention.

  1. After working at Ontario Hydro/Hydro One for over 32 years, the entire problem with the company lies with Senior and Middle management. They have selectively hired only family members who have little to no education, background or experience in the field they are placed into. Then once in, they are promoted up to there highest level of incompetence. They resist hiring any outsiders that may have the required education or training that may come in and blow the whistle. If one speaks out from the inside, they will marginalize that employee and shun them until the tow the company line. This is what has caused the present investigation by the Ontario Ombudsmen office. No one within the Customer Service group had a clue what was going on below each level of the teams, but they where all singing the same song that everything is going great ! If one has no training, background in a department, how in hell would they know if things were going well or not??

  2. Wow! Thank you for your comment. Isn't nepotism great if you've chosen your parents wisely?
