This Blog will discuss politics, government, corruption, police, S.I.U., courts, education, min. of attorney general, min. of labour, v.o.i.c.e. and other current and past events of interest to concerned citizens. In the "About me" section to the right and down I have included the names of persons whom I have tremendous respect for. Their influence on me however has been primarily environmental (and personal) and this is therefore a disclaimer that all words posted on this Blog/Website are mine and I alone am responsible for them. I say this with the greatest respect and affection to my friends.

OMAR KHADR OUT ON BAIL

Yesterday's Waterloo Region Record carried this story titled "Omar Khadr rejects "terrorism nonsense"". Mr. Khadr has finally been released on bail albeit with strict conditions. Nevertheless having been a prisoner for the past thirteen years it must seem sureal. As a fifteen year old child he was seriously wounded in a U.S. attack upon a compound that his father had left him at. Since then he spent a decade at Guantaunamo and then at two different Canadian prisons.

It is to the everlasting shame of our federal Conservative government that they have done nothing but heap coals upon a Canadian minor embroiled by his father in a foreign shooting war. Even this latest sucessful plea to the courts for bail was opposed by the Canadian government. The hypocrisy is quite spectacular. While Canada has had an incredibly open and welcoming immigration policy for decades it seems as if some immigrants are more welcome than others. Omar Khadr is not the first Canadian citizen to learn the hard way that our federal government will cheeerfully throw certain Canadian citizens to the wolves if they see political advantage to it.
